Here we look back at our top 2G Flicx Pitch projects of 2021 in what has been a record year of sales at Flicx. We have helped more clubs, school and families than ever to play more cricket. In the UK, its been great to see more schools developing their girls provision and this has created a need to create more pitches and transform green spaces for cricket use.
One of the biggest highlights of the year was the inaugural Cricket Kids Premier League which was the brainchild of the cricket kid. Over a series of evenings, under the floodlights on a blue astro hockey pitch, a bright pink Flicx wicket was rolled out for a brilliant junior tournament which saw the introductions of a new exciting format. The players absolutely loved it and its the type of concept that means cricket can be played all year round.
We continue to supply pitches to all corners of the globe. In particular this year we worked with Abu Dhabi Cricket to provide some branded, bold batting ends for their academy and open days whilst more and more clubs in the US are seeing the benefits of Flicx Pitches including Germantown CC who say the pitch has been a gamechanger for their club.
More clubs than ever are seeing the benefit of having a versatile, quality surface at their disposal. Whether it be to create new wickets or take pressure of existing facilities or groundspeoples jobs easier or to extend the season, the Flicx Pitch continues to offer a really cost effective, portable solution. Big thanks to the likes of Owen Dawkins, Beckenham CC, Shadwell CC, Kimbolton School, Chirpies Cricket Academy, Guttsta Wicked Cricket Club, Charles Skinner (Spoonbill Trophy Beach Cricket) and Cathedral School for their reviews and case studies this past year. These articles hopefully provide a flavour of the huge range of applications and positive product / customer service we pride ourselves on.
Partnerships with key cricket organisations remain at the heart of our work. We are proud to work with the likes of Surrey Cricket, Cricket Australia, Cricket Yorkshire and this year the Grassroots Cricket Fund to support their work in growing the game. Funding support in this climate is invaluable to growing the game and furthering opportunities for the sport to thrive in the future.
