On the 13th August, US Ambassador to the UK, Matthew Barzun hosted the inaugural U.S. v UK press team cricket match at Winfield House, London. The match was played on a 2G Flicx Pitch which was rolled out on the lawn especially to host the match.
The aim of the match was to raise the profile of the sport in the US and in addition to the cricket, there was also a cricket based menu for the guest to all enjoy including team captain Mark Austin from ITV news.

The Flicx Pitch was the perfect solution and surface on which to host the game. It was delivered the day before and rolled out after some preparation to the grass below to ensure optimum performance. You can see Matthew Barzun bowl the first game of the game on the slow mo video above. Sadly the game had to be cut short due to rain but we hope to be back next year if the match becomes a regular fixture in the ambassador’s diary.
