The 2G Flicx Pitch is a modular design created by connecting small interlocking thermo-plastic tiles made from Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE). It’s UV-resistant and designed to withstand heavy use and all-weather conditions. Its unique composition provides a firm, flat cricketing surface but it’s still soft enough to easily roll out and back up. The bounce is true, and the pitch offers spin mimicking the characteristics of a natural turf cricket wicket with firm grip which delivers a consistent playing experience to elevate the player experience.
2G Flicx Match Pitches are supplied in two half pitch batting ends which quickly clip together in the middle to form your full wicket. Each 10m plus product is supplied with a Flicx Trolley making it possible for one person to install it, although having two people would make lighter work.
The robustness of a 2G Flicx Pitch allows it to be used on various under surfaces like grass, concrete, and artificial turf without damage, making it a highly versatile option. The Pitch composition makes it suitable for practice and competitive matches, for adults and junior players and with all ball types giving you a huge range of options for both outdoor and indoor cricket.

As each pitch is hand made to order, the crease lines can be fully bespoked to your requirements and supplied in yards or metres.
The Skills design is a great coaching aid for all players. It has a hawk eye strip down the middle as well as coloured target tiles to help with bowling accuracy and line and length. It also aids batters decision making and a number of coaching drills can be created to improve players of all age and ability. The Skills Pitch is bright and bold but with the same performance as the match or map pitches.
The Eagle Eye design replicates the “hawk eye” system and gives bowlers clear zones in which to pitch the ball at a full, good or short length. These zones support bowling accuracy and consistency and aid batting decision making and are suitable for players of all age and ability. The performance is the same as the match pitch but the bright, bold design is great for younger players and as a coaching aid.

How the 2G Flicx Pitch Works
When rolling out the 2G Flicx Pitch on firm, flat artificial surfaces it’s simply a case of joining the pitch together and rolling it out which is a 5–10-minute job. When using the 2G Flicx Pitch on grass, ground preparation is essential to ensure a suitable under surface which means the grass needs to be cut down short to 15mm and 30-45 minutes allowed after for the pitch to settle. Feet under the pitch then mould to the grass, whilst it’s also important that the 2G Flicx Pitch is stored up right on its end.
The 2G Flicx Pitch is an exceptionally low maintenance product. If you have the pitch rolled out on grass and left out during the season, its important to keep the grass short under the Flicx Pitch by rolling it aside so the grass is kept to 15mm underneath. A 2G Flicx Pitch should be stored upright on its end so it only takes up a small amount of storage space.
The star quality of the 2G Flicx Pitch is its versatility to use on various sub surfaces. Pretty much any firm, flat surface can be used which means you can take cricket to new locations and communities.
As well as grass, sand dressed astros, most 3G synthetic pitches, over worn astro strips, indoor sports halls, playgrounds, concrete and beaches can host cricket.

The 2G Flicx Pitch offers a balance of performance, portability, and affordability that makes it an excellent alternative to traditional artificial and turf pitches, especially in environments where space and budget are a concern or in multi-sport or green public spaces.
NB- Spikes should not be worn on a 2G Flicx Pitch. Wear rubber soled shoes or trainers only.
The performance of the 2G Flicx Pitch directly reflects the underlying surface it is rolled out on. The bounce will be higher on hard surfaces compared to beach cricket. It’s important that the pitch sits flush with the undersurface rather than floating on top as this will absorb the balls energy, reducing the bounce. A well-prepared grass surface cut down short to 15mm will give you great results
The 2G Flicx Pitch is mainly used a portable, roll out wicket put out and back before matches and training however it can also be used semi-permanently and left down throughout the season in clubs and schools where security isn’t a concern (its important if the sub surface is green, that the grass is kept cut short underneath the Flicx). It is also possible to create an artificial sub base for your Flicx, this gives you year round cricket options and is relatively cheap and simple to construct. Advice is available here (link)
Coaches and players appreciate how the 2G Flicx Pitch allows for practice in a variety of conditions. The pitch’s portability means it can be easily set up in different locations, providing coaches with more flexibility for training sessions, especially when traditional pitches are unavailable.
Players enjoy the fact that they can play on a pitch that offers good grip and behaves similarly to a natural wicket, helping them develop better techniques in a controlled, adaptable environment.
Installing and maintaining a full turf pitch can be costly, especially when considering ongoing maintenance, watering, and time spent. Artificial pitches also have a high initial setup cost. The 2G Flicx Pitch, however, is affordable and offers a long lifespan with minimal upkeep.
The bounce on the 2G Flicx Pitch is consistent and realistic, mimicking natural turf wickets. Many other artificial pitches and indoor carpets, while durable, can sometimes offer a different feel underfoot or with the ball’s bounce. This makes the 2G Flicx Pitch ideal for developing skills that translate directly to outdoor match conditions.
Some examples of how we have helped clubs and schools

The pitch helps maximise the use of their existing grounds without overburdening volunteers or requiring extra maintenance.
Since purchasing the pitch, Chippenham has significantly improved its training capacity and game facilitation. The pitch is used for multiple purposes, including hosting women’s softball festivals, junior and senior club training, and even as a potential indoor net. Since its inception in 2021, Active Cricket Coaching (ACC), founded by Holly Halford-Smith, has been dedicated to growing the game of cricket through camps and coaching in Canberra. One of the most significant factors behind the growth of ACC’s programs has been the use of the 2G Flicx Pitch.
At the ACT venue, where ACC operates out of, space for training is limited—there are only two cricket nets available, with occasional access to a turf wicket. This is where the 2G Flicx Pitch has proven invaluable. Not only has it enabled Holly to host centre wicket games during the camps, but it has also allowed her to use leather cricket balls for older age groups, which has significantly improved the quality and realism of the match experience. In the past, blast balls were the only option for grass-based matches, but now, thanks to the Flicx Pitch, players can enjoy a more authentic cricket experience, even during training.
The 2G Flicx Pitch addresses the need for accessible, portable cricket facilities in urban areas with limited space. Cricket Arena CIC uses the pitch to convert artificial football pitches into temporary cricket grounds, making it possible to host tournaments and provide training in areas where traditional cricket facilities are unavailable or impractical.
The pitch is revolutionising the way Cricket Arena CIC brings cricket to communities. It allows the organization to run events like the Junior Hundred, Ludo Cup, and other local tournaments, catering to a diverse audience, including youth from refugee communities. The pitch’s portability and all-weather reliability ensure consistent, high-quality playing conditions regardless of location, making cricket more accessible and encouraging participation from newcomers and underrepresented groups.

The pitch has professionalised the cricketing experience in Riverside, reducing weather-related cancellations, supporting year-round play, and creating balanced conditions for both batters and bowlers. It has also attracted significant local interest, with plans for league expansion, youth coaching, and growing a fan base.

By offering a reliable platform for skill-building, the pitch is nurturing talent and helping to develop several promising young cricketers.
The 2G Flicx Pitch addresses the lack of dedicated cricket facilities in Colombia by providing a portable, flexible surface that can be used on existing soccer and baseball fields. This makes cricket more accessible and practical in a country where space and resources are limited.
Since the purchase of the Flicx Pitch in 2021, cricket in Barranquilla has seen significant growth, with the establishment of the first officially recognized cricket club in Colombia. The pitch has enabled regular practices, the creation of indoor facilities, and the hosting of the inaugural Barranquilla cricket tournament. It has also contributed to educating local communities about cricket, with 90% of the club members being Colombian.
For over a decade, with 10+ pitches strategically located, the 2G Flicx Pitch has been helping to address critical development challenges for cricket in Japan by providing portable, durable surfaces that allow games to be played on diverse venues, from synthetic pitches to grass and even converted baseball stadiums.
