The original Flicx Pitch was developed and manufactured in South Africa – however now with the advent and development of our 2G product; we have been able to move all production and assembly over to here in the UK which means lower lead times on all orders and completely flexibility over the design and colours of your pitch (for those choosing to move away from our traditional green match pitch)
A full length pitch (22.12m x 1.8m) takes around an hour to put together and is made from a number of these tiles which themselves are manufactured in Suffolk by a plastics company called Roland Plastics Ltd. They specialise in the supply of precision engineered injection mouldings and assemblies in a wide range thermoplastic materials, produced on state of the art machines.
From here, our assembly men ( Rob) pitch together the pitches, clipping and hammering the slots in place before trimming the excess clips from any outer edges. The whole process takes between 1-2 hours. You will notice from our blog and website, that we now also produce two brand new coaching pitches, the skills pitch and the eagle-eyed pitch with the same process applying only with coloured tiles being used in line with the design so with coloured strips to show pitching in line as well as target tiles to aid the skill development of young players.
Once the pitch is completed, it is rolled up tightly and tied with 2 straps before being placed in a mesh bag and readied for dispatch to our customers to support the development of cricket facilities and talent – allowing cricket to be played pretty much anywhere!
