Access a share of $15,000 of Cricket Australia funding towards 2G Flicx Pitches

Cricket Australia and Flicx UK are working in partnership to provide funding towards portable, roll out cricket pitches to enable clubs and schools in Australia to be able to grow their capacity and better utilise their existing green spaces.

Cricket Australia are pleased to announce $15,000 of funding towards 2G Flicx Pitches this season with a further $5,000 plus of investment from Flicx means that 32 pitches will be available at a subsidised rate ahead of the new season in September. The pitches have been hand made in the UK and are available as either 18.12m, 20.12m or 22.12m Multi Age Pitches with the extra junior creases in built. Each pitch is supplied in two half pitch batting ends which clip together in the middle to form the full pitch and includes a free safety trolley which makes it possible for one person to roll the pitch out ahead of use. This gives clubs, councils, associations and schools huge versatility to expand their facilities.

Flicx Pitches have a 20-year history in creating opportunities to play more cricket with their innovative roll out product meaning that cricket can be played on pretty much any firm flat surface. In Australia clubs and schools looking to create extra match and training capacity can now convert grass fields, parks or utlise their outfield to host a better standard of cricket where junior players skills can develop by playing on a consistent wicket with good pace, bounce and carry.

31 pitches were purchased through the programme last season with one of the beneficiaries Oliver Graham, South Australia Metro – Competitions Administration Officer at SACA commenting
